Caring for your bag
Natural cane, vegan leather and bamboo ask for very little. A few simple habits keep your Malang bag looking the way it did on day one.
01. Everyday Care
Do
- Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use
- Keep the bag dry — carry an umbrella in the monsoon
- Carry everyday essentials, not heavy loads
- Set it down on clean, dry surfaces
Don't
- Soak or wash the bag in water
- Use chemical cleaners, alcohol or polish sprays
- Leave it in direct sun or a hot car
- Hang heavy weight from the bamboo handle
02. The Cane Panel
Rattan cane is a natural material. Dust it gently with a soft, dry cloth or a soft brush, following the weave. If it gets wet, blot it straight away with a dry cloth and let it air-dry at room temperature — never with a hair dryer or heater. Small variations in tone and weave are part of the material, not a flaw.

Lighter shades such as powder blue and grey can pick up colour from dark denim — worth keeping in mind.
04. Bamboo Handle
The bamboo top handle is made for carrying your everyday essentials. Avoid heavy loads, and don’t hang the bag by its handle from hooks or chair backs for long periods. Wipe the handle with a dry cloth; keep it away from water and direct heat.
05. Storage
When you’re not using it, stuff the bag lightly with tissue paper to hold its shape, place it in its dust bag, and store it upright in a cool, dry place out of direct sun. Avoid plastic covers, which trap moisture.
